Marketing for ERP partners who are tired of sounding like every other reseller.

Marketing for ERP partners has one main job: give buyers a reason to choose you over the other partners selling the same software. SignalScaler helps Microsoft Dynamics, SAP Business One, NetSuite, Sage and Acumatica partners in the US, UK, Gulf and Canada own a niche, prove it, and reach companies at the moment they start looking.

The short answer

Why is marketing an ERP partner different from marketing software?

Because you sell services around a product someone else makes. The buyer chooses the software and the partner, often separately, and many partners sell the same product in the same region. Your marketing has to win the partner decision: industry knowledge, implementation method, local presence, support and your own add-ons.

The vendor's marketing builds demand for the product. It does not tell a manufacturer in Ohio or a distributor in Dubai why your team is the safer pair of hands. Most partner websites repeat the vendor's feature lists, so buyers end up comparing day rates and certifications. That is the gap we fill.

Our view

How can an ERP partner stand out from other partners?

Pick one or two angles you can prove and lead every page, campaign and sales deck with them. Industry focus is the strongest for most partners, followed by your own add-ons, a migration speciality or a support model. Trying to own all of them at once usually means owning none.

AngleExample messageProof buyers expect
Industry focus"ERP for discrete manufacturers with 20 to 200 staff"Go-live stories from that industry, industry terms used correctly, relevant add-ons
Own IP or add-ons"Our quality and traceability module, built for food producers"Product pages, demo videos, AppSource or marketplace listing, client quotes
Migration speciality"GP to Business Central in under six months"A clear migration method, data checklist, timeline and fixed-scope options
Region and language"Arabic and English support across the UAE and Saudi Arabia"Local team, local tax and e-invoicing knowledge, local references
Rescue and support"We fix stalled implementations"Before-and-after stories, support response times, named support leads

Example messages are illustrations, not claims about any specific partner.

Timing

Which buying triggers should ERP partners market to?

ERP projects start when something forces the question. The partner who is visible at that moment gets the first call. The triggers we build campaigns and outbound lists around are:

End-of-support dates. Microsoft stopped selling new Dynamics GP subscriptions on 1 April 2026. Product updates, tax updates and support end on 31 December 2029, and security updates end on 30 April 2031. Every GP customer needs a plan, and each plan starts with choosing a partner.

Growth events. An acquisition, a new site or country, a new legal entity or a jump in order volume that spreadsheets can no longer handle.

People changes. A new CFO, finance director or operations head often reviews systems in their first year.

Pain signals. Job adverts for "ERP administrator" or "finance systems analyst", audit findings, or public complaints about an ageing system.

The SignalScaler approach

How we market ERP and Microsoft Dynamics partners

Positioning first, then every channel tells the same story. It is the method used on the 123insight ERP programme, adapted for partners.

02 · Prove
Turn go-lives into proof

Migration and end-of-support campaigns
Webinars and user-group events with follow-up
LinkedIn presence for your consultants
04 · Convert
Make the first step easy
A clear first offer, such as a readiness assessment or migration scoping session, and nurture emails for buyers who are a year away.

Lead sources compared

Where do ERP partner leads come from?

Most partners rely on vendor referrals and their existing customers. Both are valuable but outside your control. The partners with the steadiest pipelines add at least one owned channel, usually search and AI visibility, and one active channel, usually outbound or events, aimed at a defined niche.

SourceStrengthWatch out for
Vendor referrals and co-sellHigh trust, often larger dealsVolume depends on your standing with the vendor; you cannot turn it up
Paid lead marketplacesBuyers already researching ERPShared leads: one marketplace sells each lead to up to three partners, at $49 standard or $149 premium (ERP Research, checked November 2026)
Search and AI answersCompounds over time; buyers come to youTakes four to six months; needs real industry content, not product copy
Events and user groupsFace-to-face trust with existing users of the productCostly without a follow-up plan; most value comes after the event
Signal-based outboundYou choose the accounts and the timingNeeds careful targeting and a safe sending setup to protect your domain
Existing customersUpgrades, add-ons and referralsOften under-marketed; needs a simple customer programme

For Microsoft partners, new customers also count toward the Solutions Partner for Business Applications designation: "net customer adds" is worth up to 15 of the 100 points, at three points per net new customer (Microsoft Learn, checked November 2026). Marketing that wins new logos helps the badge buyers look for.

Proof

Positioning an ERP product in the UK and India

123insight builds ERP and MRP software for small and mid-sized discrete manufacturers. Our founder led its marketing for about a year in his earlier career: positioning against larger ERP vendors, then one consistent story across the website, campaigns, events, a partner and reseller channel, and sales materials.

Positioning

Clear fit for one buyer

A defined customer (discrete manufacturers) and a value proposition that explained why they should choose a specialist over a bigger name.

Partner channel

Partners told the same story

Materials and messaging so partners and resellers presented the product the right way, in two very different markets.

Sales

Built for long cycles

Brochures, decks and case studies that answered the questions ERP buyers ask before they shortlist anyone.

Common questions

Marketing for ERP partners: FAQs

How do ERP partners generate leads?
Most leads come from vendor referrals, existing customers, events and paid lead marketplaces. Partners with the steadiest pipeline add an owned channel such as search and AI visibility, and an active channel such as signal-based outbound, both focused on one industry or migration speciality.
How can we stand out from other partners selling the same ERP?
Lead with something the vendor's marketing cannot give you: an industry focus, your own add-ons, a migration method, regional presence or a support model. Then prove it with implementation stories and pages written in your buyers' language.
Are paid ERP lead marketplaces worth it?
They can fill gaps, but treat them as one channel. Leads are often shared with other partners, so speed of response and a clear niche decide who wins. Track cost per signed project, not cost per lead, before increasing spend.
Should we run a Dynamics GP migration campaign now?
If GP customers are in your target market, yes. New subscriptions stopped in April 2026 and support ends on 31 December 2029, so many companies are choosing a path now. A campaign that explains options, timelines and risks reaches them while they are still deciding.
Do you only work with Microsoft Dynamics partners?
No. We work with partners for Dynamics 365 and Business Central, SAP Business One, NetSuite, Sage, Acumatica and similar mid-market ERP products, as well as ERP vendors selling through partner channels.
How long does ERP partner marketing take to show results?
Outbound and trigger campaigns can start conversations within two to three months. Search and AI visibility take four to six months to build. ERP deals then follow a long buying cycle, so plan on judging the programme over at least two or three quarters.
