Active engagement — in progress

20 campaigns. 2 brands.
One Fractional CMO architecture.

This is an active, in-progress Fractional CMO engagement spanning two related businesses under one ownership group — a 10+ year real estate virtual assistant staffing agency running purely on referrals, and a newer on-demand task platform with a live product but almost no active users. What follows is the strategy, the audit, and the 20-campaign architecture — not final results, since the programme is still running. (Client details are protected.)

The Challenge

One ownership group, two businesses, two entirely different problems. Brand A is a real estate virtual assistant staffing agency with over 10 years in business and 522 clients — a genuinely established, trusted operation with a serious blind spot: it runs entirely on referrals, with zero digital presence to speak of. Brand B is a newer on-demand task platform for real estate agents — a live, working product with 50-60 registered users, most of whom had gone inactive.

Two brands, two different maturity stages, two different problems to solve — one lacks visibility entirely, the other has a product but can't activate the users it already has. Both needed a coherent strategy, run by one person, without either brand's needs getting shortchanged by the other.

The core insight
"A 10-year-old business with 522 clients and an early-stage platform with 60 sign-ups have almost nothing in common operationally — except that both problems are solvable with the same discipline: a real audit, a real architecture, and campaigns built to that specific brand's actual stage."

The Approach — a Fractional CMO Architecture

Rather than treating this as two separate consulting engagements, the programme runs as a single Fractional CMO function overseeing both brands — sharing strategic discipline and reporting cadence, while keeping each brand's campaign set entirely tailored to its own stage and problem.

Phase 1 · Month 1
Diagnostic — understanding both businesses properly first
Full audit of both brands — for Brand A, a review of the existing (referral-only) growth pattern, brand positioning, and competitive landscape. For Brand B, a product gap analysis examining the platform's UX, activation flow, and the reasons behind the existing user inactivity. This diagnostic work shaped the entire 20-campaign architecture that followed.
Phase 2 · Month 2–3
Foundation — positioning, SEO, and platform fixes launched
Brand A's positioning, voice, and website copy were rebuilt from the ground up, alongside the first wave of SEO, content, and email infrastructure. Brand B's product gap findings began feeding into development fix recommendations, while re-engagement campaigns started reaching out to the existing inactive user base.
Phase 3 · Month 4–6 · Currently active
Scale — paid advertising layered in, campaigns compounding
Paid advertising launches from Month 4 onward for both brands, layered on top of the organic and outreach foundations built in the first three months. This is the phase the engagement is in now — running all 20 campaigns simultaneously, tracking against the Month 6 targets for both brands.

The 20-Campaign Architecture

Each brand received its own set of 10 campaigns, built specifically around that brand's stage and problem — not a copy-pasted playbook applied twice.

Targets We're Working Toward

Since this engagement is still active, the honest way to present it is as targets in motion, not finished results. Here's what success looks like for each brand by the end of the 6-month programme.

Month 6 targets — not yet achieved, actively in progress
500+
Brand A — target monthly organic visitors by Month 6
10-15
Brand A — target qualified leads per month by Month 6
100+
Brand B — target active subscribers by Month 6
50%+
Brand B — target platform activation rate by Month 6
Why we're showing this before it's finished
"Most case studies only show up once the numbers look good. We think the architecture and the discipline behind a programme like this — auditing properly, building brand-specific campaigns instead of a copy-pasted playbook — is worth showing on its own, whether or not every target lands exactly on schedule."

What This Means for Your Business

If you're running more than one brand or business line, the temptation is either to run one unified marketing effort across both (usually serving neither well), or to hire two entirely separate teams (usually expensive and poorly coordinated). A Fractional CMO structure — one strategic function, brand-specific campaign architecture underneath it — is often the more efficient middle path.

It also matters that the two brands here are at genuinely different maturity stages. The 10-campaign set for a 10-year-old referral business looks nothing like the 10-campaign set for an early-stage platform trying to activate its first real user base — and it shouldn't. A single strategist who understands both problems is often more valuable than two disconnected specialists.

We'll update this case study with final results once the 6-month programme concludes — for now, this is what a properly architected multi-brand engagement looks like while it's actually running.
